Banner #1: Hoosier Hysteria Kicks Off Basketball Season
Hoosier Hysteria finally arrived on Friday and with it, the 2024-2025 basketball season. Once the basketball festivities began, the teams were introduced with coaches Teri Moren and Mike Woodson addressing the crowd followed by skills competitions and a scrimmage for the men’s side.
Inside the Hall broke down the events from the night. Karoline Striplin and Myles Rice won the skills competition over Valentyna Kadlecova and Malik Reneau. In the three-point contest, Shay Ciezki defeated Sydney Parrish but Parrish came back to win a game of knockout later. Finally, in the scrimmage, it was a 29-29 draw with Mackenzie Mgbako leading the way with 12 points including the tying three-pointer at the buzzer.
Banner #2: Preseason Rankings
The main reason for the hype surrounding this season is high expectations. For the first time in a couple of years, Indiana is ranked, clocking in at no. 17 in the Associated Press Poll. This joins a long line of publications that have the Hoosiers near the top of college basketball for 2024-2025. However, the one exception to this is KenPom which puts IU all the way down at no. 39.
As for the women, they kept their long streak of being in every single AP Poll since 2019-2020 began, alive, but only barely. With the graduation of all-time program great Mackenzie Holmes, expectations have diminished but only slightly as they are no. 25.
Banner #3: Lawsuit Filled By Former IU Basketball Players
It was already known that allegations were made against former IU basketball contracted physician Bradford Bomba Sr. and the University was investigating. Now, one-time players Charlie Miller and Haris Mujezinovic have filed a class action lawsuit against Indiana for unnecessary and sexually abusive rectal exams by him.
It should be noted Bomba Sr. has not been contracted or employed by IU since the late 90’s. However, the lawsuit alleges the university knew of the abuse and failed to act which is contrary to federal law.
Banner #4: Inside The Hall Update
Inside the Hall continued its series previewing IU’s players. This week they looked at Luke Goode, Trey Galloway, and Anthony Leal.
They also posted a few interviews from Media Day recently. Also, a feature on Myles Rice and a mailbag was published this week.

Banner #6: Hoosier Roundup-Football Rolls Nebraska On Homecoming
No. 16 Football demolished Nebraska 56-7 on homecoming to improve to 7-0 in front of a sold-out Memorial Stadium. For the first time in IU history, the boys of the gridiron as well as the men and women on the court are all ranked at the same time.
Men’s soccer had another fantastic week beating both Michigan and Michigan State. As a result, a couple of their athletes were honored by the conference. Also, the Big Ten Tournament will move from the higher seed hosting each match to a neutral site in suburban Chicago.
Field hockey continued its strong play knocking off ranked Cal. Also, a couple of their players were honored by the Big Ten and nationally.
Volleyball was beaten by Penn State, Illinois, and Purdue.
Cross country competed at the Pre-Nationals.
Men’s tennis wrapped up play at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships.
