[6BS] Hoosiers Add Additional Walk-ons To Roster
Women's Basketball Announces Non-Conference Schedule
Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, and presented by our friends at Homefield Apparel, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.
IU’s roster had some unexpected additions this week. While these players are not expected to have major roles, they will provide bodies for practice as walk-ons.
Additionally, women’s basketball announced its non-conference schedule, a wrap-up of an ITH series, and football’s second victory. As usual, we will conclude with weekly shows and a look at other Hoosier sports, which was highlighted by soccer emerging victorious against two ranked squads.

Banner #1: Hoosiers Add Additional Walk-Ons To Roster
The roster of scholarship players who will contribute this fall has been completed for a while. However, there can never be enough walk-ons that will be used primarily for competition in practice.
With the additions of these two non-scholarship freshmen, the roster now stands at 17 players with four walk-ons. Besides returnees Jordan Rayford and Ian Stephens, the squad revealed the additions of freshmen Tryce Grensing and Drew Snively.
Grensing is from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and went to Providence Christian Academy. Meanwhile, Snively is a local from suburban Indianapolis and went to Zionsville High School.
Meanwhile, turning to further down the road, IU is trying to reel in top recruits for 2026. Top-15 prospect Arafan Diane is down to five schools, including Indiana. He will also visit Bloomington on homecoming weekend from October 17-19.
Banner #2: Women’s Basketball Announces Non-Conference Schedule
While the men’s squad released its non-conference schedule a while ago, the women’s side just announced there’s this week. Their only exhibition contest will kick things off on October 27 against Missouri S&T before things officially get underway when hosting Lipscomb on November 4.
The toughest matchups come in a five-game stretch that takes place over a two-week period from November 16 to November 30. In this time, the Hoosiers will travel to Florida State, take on Butler in Assembly Hall, before going back to the Sunshine State to face Florida Gulf Coast, Gonzaga, and either Iowa State or Marquette.
Banner #3: Inside The Hall’s Top Big Ten Players Series
With the season drawing closer, Inside the Hall finished their series previewing the top 40 players in the Big Ten. Numbers 1-20 have now been revealed, with Tucker DeVries being the only Hoosier making the list at no.15.
Banner #4: IU Football Dominates Kennesaw State
While 6-Banner is a basketball-focused column, the success of IU football in 2024 has led to unprecedented excitement amongst the fan base and increased media coverage for the program. As a result, 6-Banner, Assembly Call, The Back Home Network, and Inside the Hall are providing more coverage of the Hoosier squad on the gridiron now.
Expectations are high that Indiana can come close to repeating last year’s success. This weekend was matchup number two, coming against Kennesaw State, and this time, the Hoosiers cruised to an easy 56-9 victory to improve to 2-0.
Issues with short yardage and offensive line play near the goal line were much improved from week one, as Indiana scored eight touchdowns this week after just three against Old Dominion. Also, star wide receiver Elijah Sarratt broke out with nine receptions for 97 yards and three touchdowns.
Pre-conference play continues next Friday. The Cream and Crimson will once again be the heavy favorites as they face Indiana State at 6:30 pm on BTN to conclude non-conference play.

have it, and can attest to its quality and fit.
Plus, how cool is it to have an item celebrating the great teams under Branch McCracken?
Banner #5: Weekly Shows
Inside the Hall’s Podcast on the Brink returned this week. On it, Sleepers Media’s Greg Waddell joined the program to discuss the upcoming Big Ten basketball season.
The Back Home Network was on air many times this week as new shows continue to be added. Big Red Carpet, CrimsonCASH, Crimson Cast, Doing The Work, Dribble Drive, Football Weather, and Right Up Meridian all had episodes over the last few days.

Banner #6: Hoosier Roundup-Men’s Soccer Rolls To Two Ranked Victories
Men’s Soccer knocked off Oregon State and St. Louis to improve to 4-0-1. The team has the top RPI in the country as of Sunday morning and is also ranked in the top five in the polls. Their strong start has also seen a couple of players honored by the league.
Volleyball has started its season with a bang. They are 5-0 after three easy wins to open the home portion of their schedule. These victories allowed head coach Steve Aird to pick up his 100th career win at IU. Also, tickets are now on sale for the October matchup against Purdue at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Women’s soccer fell to Bellarmine and tied Xavier this week.
Women’s golf finished second at the Boilermaker Classic and had the individual champion of the tournament.
Baseball announced its participation in a prestigious early-season tournament next spring.
Softball released its fall exhibition slate.
