Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, and presented by our friends at Homefield Apparel, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.
With a full program reset nearly complete, new IU coach Darian DeVries continues to remake his personnel for next season. The last few days have been another step towards accomplishing this with yet another transfer coming on board. Also, DeVries added another top assistant as he continues to fill out his staff.
Besides this, Big Ten opponents were announced, and Hoosiers in the NBA. As usual, we will conclude with weekly shows and a look at other Indiana sports, led by softball taking a series from Purdue.

Banner #1: Hoosiers Add Big Man From Portal
With a full personnel reset underway, IU Coach Darian DeVries continues to add and chase prospects to fill out the roster. It was known that DeVries’ son Tucker will follow his dad to campus, and incoming freshman Trent Sisley is sticking with the Hoosiers. Also, Luke Goode is petitioning for a medical redshirt and Conor Enright and Reed Bailey are already committed. Finally, Lamar Wilkerson, Tayton Conerway, Jasai Miles, Jason Drake, Nick Dorn, and Sam Alexis are all on board as well.
The latest addition for this week is a much needed contributor in the frontcourt. This comes in the form of North Florida’s Josh Harris. While several of the committed transfers have just a single year of eligibility remaining, Harris has three after just completing his freshman year with the Ospreys.
Harris averaged 13.4 points at his previous stop. His commitment also gives Indiana at least 11 players on scholarship for 2025-2026.
These additions also have them in Joe Lunardi’s first 2026 bracketology as a 10 seed. Bart Torvik sees IU in a similar light slotting them at no. 38 at this point heading into next season.
Banner #2: IU Adds Another Assistant Coach
While the addition of Harris was significant on the court, another one off of it could be even bigger. The staff was already confirmed to have Kenny Johnson and Nick Norton as assistants.
Joining them reportedly is Tennessee’s Rod Clark. The Volunteers have been highly successful in recent seasons under head coach Rick Barnes where Clark was part of this staff in Knoxville. Now Clark comes two states north to Indiana to try to help DeVries build similar success in Bloomington.
Banner #3: Big Ten Opponents Announced
The schedule continues to come together for IU. While several top non-conference matchups (Kentucky, Louisville, and Marquette) were already known, any news about the Big Ten slate was minimal.
That changed this week when the league revealed which opponents each team will play once versus twice. For the Hoosiers, their double plays will be arch-rival Purdue as always to go with Michigan State and Minnesota. Coming to Assembly Hall only will be Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon, Penn State, Washington, and Wisconsin. The road-only slate is challenging and features trips to Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, UCLA, and USC.
Meanwhile, the women with just 18 conference contests, flip their home and road opposition from last season to go with their permanent double play against the Boilermakers. They will also be navigating a dramatically different roster after many transfers out and several other players exhausting their eligibility.
Banner #4: Hoosiers In NBA
There continue to be several former Hoosiers competing in the NBA. Four of them have had their seasons continue, as the teams they are on are a part of the playoffs.
New York’s OG Anunoby and Indiana’s Thomas Bryant locally have already moved onto the next round of the postseason with their squads after defeating Detroit and Milwaukee respectively. Meanwhile, Golden State’s Trayce Jackson-Davis is down to a decisive game seven today versus Houston, while Miami’s Kel’el Ware was part of being swept out in the first round by Cleveland.
