[6BS] Hoosiers Beat Marian In Exhibition Match
Gridiron Hoosiers Top Michigan State To Remain Undefeated
Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, and presented by our friends at Homefield Apparel, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.
IU debuted its new look team against Marian in an exhibition game to much success. Across the parking lot, football won on homecoming to remain undefeated.
Also, recruiting updates and Inside the Hall continued its series previewing each Hoosier player in detail. As usual, we will conclude with weekly shows and a look at other IU sports, which was highlighted by men’s soccer topping rival Kentucky.

Banner #1: Hoosiers Beat Marian In Exhibition Opener
Under new IU head coach Darian DeVries, Hoosier fans were promised a more modern offense that emphasizes the three-point shot. Mission accomplished.
While it was only an exhibition game against overmatched Marian, the evidence was there as the Hoosiers made 15-30 from downtown with constant ball movement. Tucker DeVries and Trent Sisley each scored 23 points while combining for nine triples. The final was 107-46 as the offense flowed freely for all 40 minutes. This is despite early-season injuries that have limited the squad’s depth.
Afterward, DeVries spoke, Ryan Corazza wrote a Minute After, Alex Bozich penned Five Takeaways, while Josh Pos put together a column about Indiana’s emphasis on the three-pointer.

After improving their playoff standing and moving up to No. 3 in the AP Poll, IU football had its schedule lighten up with a homecoming date against Michigan State. The Hoosiers made easy work of the Spartans, winning 38-13. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza continued to improve both his Heisman candidacy and draft stock, tossing four touchdowns, including two to star WR Elijah Sarratt. At 7-0, the Hoosiers host UCLA next weekend.
Also, away from the field, there was speculation that head coach Curt Cignetti might entertain leaving Indiana for a different job. However, this was put to bed with him agreeing to a new contract that pays him over $11 million per season.
Banner #3: Recruiting Update
The fall recruiting season is winding down as IU tries to add more prospects for 2026. As a result, Inside the Hall updated its recruiting board for mid-October.
Banner #4: Inside The Hall’s IU Player Preview Series
Inside the Hall continued its series previewing all of IU’s players in detail. This week, Nick Dorn, Jason Drake, Lamar Wilkerson, Conor Enright, and Tayton Conerway were looked at.
