[6BS] IU Goes 1-2 At Battle 4 Atlantis
Women Do Significantly Better In Their Battle 4 Atlantis
Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, and presented by our friends at Homefield Apparel, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.
IU basketball’s strong start to the season came to a grinding halt in the Battle 4 Alants. This again leaves more questions than answers about where this season and potentially where the program’s future is headed .
Besides this, readers will find info about women’s basketball’s much better performance in their Battle 4 Atlantis and weekly shows. We will as usual conclude with a look at other Hoosier sports led by football taking back the Old Oaken Bucket in dominant fashion.

Banner #1: Hoosiers Salvage Battle 4 Atlantis Finale By Dominating Providence
Indiana basketball has mostly gone as Myles Rice has gone this season. He was a very strong presence in IU’s first four games as the team started a perfect 4-0. However, Rice and the Hoosiers’ guard play in general fell off massively in the Battle 4 Atlantis as the team finished just 1-2 there.
They did salvage the finale there against Providence in a solid performance on Friday though. While Rice provided little, Trey Galloway, Mackenzie Mgbako, and Malik Reneau combined for 64 points as Indiana dominated the Friars 89-73.
Afterward, IU coach Mike Woodson spoke, Ryan Corazza wrote a Minute After, Alex Bozich put together Five Takeaways, and Will Foley penned a column about the offense.
Banner #2: IU Overwhelmed By Gonzaga
The Hoosiers were surprisingly up against an elite Gonzaga squad on Thanksgiving in the losers bracket after the Bulldogs fell to West Virginia. However, Indiana was not able to duplicate the Mountaineers success as neutral court blowouts continue to be a theme of the Woodson era. The final was the reverse of the Providence result with IU being on the wrong end of an 89-73 score in this one.
Afterward, Woodson spoke, Corazza wrote a Minute After, Bozich put together Five Takeaways, and Foley penned a column about the squad’s lack of answers.
Banner #3: Indiana No-Shows Vs. Louisville In Disheartening Defeat
In the worst defeat of all, Indiana opened their journey in the Bahamas with a 28 point loss against Louisville 89-61. The Cardinals are a squad that features 13 new players and is still digging out of the disaster that was the Kenny Payne era.
Afterward, Woodson spoke, Corazza wrote a Minute After, Bozich put together Five Takeaways, and Foley penned a column about the lack of preparation.
Banner #4: Women Beat Ranked Baylor And Fall To UNC In Their Battle 4 Atlantis
The alternating of good wins and bad losses continued for the women’s side this week. However, their trip to the Bahamas went significantly better than for their male counterparts.
After last week’s victory over Columbia, the Hoosiers upset another ranked team in Baylor to reach the event’s championship game. This is where the run ended though as Indiana ran out of gas and was dominated by North Carolina. They sit at 4-3 but have a month of an easier schedule in December as IU looks to establish consistency.

Banner #6: Hoosier Roundup-Football Takes Back Old Oaken Bucket In Dominant Fashion To Likely Clinch CFP Spot
Football shutout Purdue 66-0 to reclaim the Old Oaken Bucket and finish their best season ever at 11-1. Their next stop is almost certainly the College Football Playoff
