Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, and presented by our friends at Homefield Apparel, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.
With a full program reset nearly complete, new IU coach Darian DeVries continues to remake his personnel for next season, and the last few days have been another step towards accomplishing this. Also, while the women’s squad has some continuity, they have to make over their roster as well and added another player this week.
Besides this, we will provide some information on where former Hoosiers are headed in the NFL Draft and updates on more established ones already in the NBA. As usual, we will conclude with weekly shows and a look at other Indiana sports, led by soccer announcing a huge matchup for their opener next fall.

Banner #1: Another Huge Portal Week For IU
With a full personnel reset underway, IU Coach Darian DeVries continues to add and chase prospects to fill out the roster. It was known DeVries’ son Tucker will follow his dad to campus, and incoming freshman Trent Sisley is sticking with the Hoosiers. Also, Luke Goode is petitioning for a medical redshirt and DePaul transfer Conor Enright and Davidson transfer Reed Bailey are already committed. Finally, Lamar Wilkerson, Tayton Conerway, and Jasai Miles were in the fold heading into this week.
Now in the last few days, the latest names to join the fold are Drexel’s Jason Drake, Elon’s Nick Dorn, and Florida’s Sam Alexis. However, what players come on board to complete the roster remains to be seen.
Some names being looked at are USC’s Desmond Claude, Texas Tech’s Federiko Federiko, North Florida’s Josh Harris, Florida Atlantic’s Baba Miller, and Jacksonville’s Stephon Payne III. Of the recruits coming to Indiana so far, they make up a strong class that features five in 247Sports top-150. Finally when it comes to rosters, Inside the Hall looked at where all the Big Ten squads stand currently.
Banner #2: Women Add Transfer From Duquesne
The women have had to make over their roster as well between graduations and transfers leaving after several years of stability. So far they were able to get portal commitments from Virginia’s Edessa Noyan, UCLA’s Zania Socka-Nguemen, Alabama’s Chloe Spreen, and Arkansas’ Phoenix Stotijn, before this week.
The last few days saw a fifth player from another school join the fold. This came in the form of Duquesne’s Jerni Kiaku who was a constant starter for the Dukes.
The other big story from the program this week was a change to the coaching staff. Linda Sayavongchanh is out as an assistant coach while Colsten Thompson takes her place in a similar role. Colsten like Spreen, was with the Crimson Tide previously where he was instrumental in signing a pair of top-15 recruiting classes nationally.
Banner #3: Former Indiana Players Drafted Into NFL with 49ers
After a record-setting 11-2 season from IU that featured an appearance in the college football playoff, Indiana had two of its key contributors drafted into the NFL. The San Francisco 49ers was the landing spot for both with linebacker CJ West (fourth round) and star quarterback Kurtis Rourke (seventh round) headed to the Bay Area to begin their pro careers.
Banner #4: Hoosiers In The NBA
There continue to be several former Hoosiers competing in the NBA. Four of them have had their seasons continue, as the teams they are on are a part of the playoffs.
New York’s OG Anunoby, Indiana’s Thomas Bryant locally, Golden State’s Trayce Jackson-Davis, and Miami’s Kel’el Ware are all in the postseason. Anunoby, Bryant, and Jackson-Davis all are on the right side of 2-1 leads in their series while Ware trails 3-0.
