I agree. With the roster this year and no injuries we should be able to decide if he can be the man. He definitely knows how to recruit and have players believe in him. He certainly didn’t come to IU to loose

I don't take pre-season polls too seriously, but it's obviously better to be ranked in them than not. It's a momentum boost for a program that badly needed it .

In a lot of ways that's true. But there can be meaningful program or coach trends over time that are instructive. Either way, continuing to underperform expectations is not sustainable for IU basketball. At some point we need another season with high expectations where we actually live up to the expectations. Hopefully that's this season!

Yes, preseason rankings are important. Also, I used to think Kenpom was the best ranking, but I no longer think so.

Yeah, I like to look at a bunch of them. For an analysis like this, I didn't think it was necessary. But there are subtle differences between them.
