Jerod analyzes how bad Indiana's rebounding has been, why there may be reason for hope, and how important Malik Reneau's presence has been so far this season.
I commented about this in your last thread without seeing the numbers and it's even worse than I thought! Rebounding is effort and the effort isn't consistently there. Boxing out properly is non existent. This combined with an already 90 points difference (132-42) in points via 3 will doom this team if not fixed. This is starting to remind me of the 2013-2014 team the year after the Syracuse loss. Talent was there..Yogi, Troy, Sheehey, Vonleh but that team just never jelled and finished 17-15, 7-11. I hope I'm wrong!
Our own threes are long because they are bricks largely. The best thing I saw Sunday was the bigs making FT. Ware is tall but lacks the dribble skills to back people down on the offensive side. X wasn't his self either. We need to drive and dish for spot up threes, otherwise dump it it in. Referees were atrocious as well. Iam very happy with Malik, much better so far this year, problem with that is he could leave if this team doesn't get some spark
Giving up 25+ 3s creates a ton of long, awkward rebounds.
Jerod couldn't have said it better.
