Can't thank you enough for the coverage of our beloved Hoosiers. Keep up the good work and we look forward to an interesting football and successful basketball season
Everyone but Oregon struggled of the four squads coming in but all generally have strong programs. USC doesn't play softball but the other three coming in are solid.
Not surprised. They didn’t deserve to be in tournament anyway. I have the same concerns about Mercer that I have with Woodson. Mercer can’t recruit pitchers and Woodson can’t recruit shooters. You can’t win against quality teams in baseball without pitching and the same is true in basketball without shooters.
Apples and Oranges. Mercer has been to the NCAA Tourney three times in five seasons and the fourth they missed by a game.
Northern baseball is extremely tough and the league is more equivalent to the Mountain West or Atlantic 10 in prestige if you consider basketball terms. With that said, IU has been far and away the most successful program in the conference with eight appearances in the NCAA Tournament in the last 11 seasons and has been at or near the top of the league every year but one.
The pitching does need to improve from the get go. Ever since Dustin Glant has been here as the pitching coach the last three seasons, it has taken half of the year to figure it out. He and Mercer deserve kudos for eventually figuring it out each time halfway through but they need to be better from the start going forward and Mercer made it very clear he understands that in postgame presser.
Finally, IU absolutely showed they belonged here this weekend dominating this Southern Miss team on Friday and then giving Tennessee who is the top-team in college baseball a decent game once Foley departed. The pitching depth needs work as discussed in the article and it bit them today.
However, as a whole Mercer has achieved considerably more than Woodson with a Big Ten title and three NCAA appearances so far. Just some tweaks needed around the edges.
No these last two games have not been a good showing by pitching staff (with one being against best team in college baseball). However, pitching before that had been much better the last month and it is why they made tourney. Need to be stronger from get go going forward as discussed in article.
As a former student athlete and 75 grad as well as a 50 year Iman I’m not happy about the lack of pride with today’s athletes not caring about winning and the privilege of Indiana on the jersey.
I have forgotten about more history of Indiana athletics than you know. No disrespect intended just facts
You are entitled to that opinion. However, just realizing building a powerhouse in Big Ten in baseball is so hard no one has done it in 50 years. IU last decade is closest thing to one and they have been far from it.

You are welcome!
The defunct PAC-12 conference is sending you some very strong baseball and softball programs for next season!

You call giving up 15 runs in back to back games a good showing?…smh

Still not convinced he’s the guy
