[IUFR] Breaking Down Indiana's 3-Point Barrage
Coach Adragna takes a look at all 12 of Indiana's made 3-pointers in their victory over North Alabama.
It finally happened!
Indiana had a game where they got hot from the outside.
In total, the Hoosiers made 12 3-pointers. On the season, Indiana has already had four games in which they didn’t even take 12 3s.
It was also a season-high in attempts, as the Hoosiers shot 12-24 on the evening.
So what led to this 3-point barrage from the Hoosiers? How did they get the shot? We dive in below.
North Alabama made a concerted effort to double-team Indiana’s dynamic frontcourt duo, and the Hoosier bigs did a nice job of kicking the ball out and finding the open man.
It takes two to tango, so while the bigs were doing a nice job of finding the perimeter guards, the guards helped seal the deal by having their hands and feet ready to shoot and knocking down the shots.
Now let’s look at the other sources of Indiana’s made 3s: early offense, drive-and-kicks, and, of course, Malik Reneau’s last-second heave to beat the shot clock. (Hey, when you’re hot, you’re hot!)
