But nine games into his sophomore season, some Hoosier fans are wondering why his scoring has dipped by four points per game, his assist rate has declined, and his turnover rate has climbed.
Interestingly, while his offensive efficiency has ticked up slightly—improving by one point—those hoping for a big sophomore leap have been left looking for answers. The question isn’t whether Myles Rice has struggled overall, but why his performance has shifted and what factors might explain the differences.
One area that stands out is his finishing at the rim. Last season, Rice was in the 71st percentile in this category, showcasing his ability to convert in close. This year, however, that number has plummeted to the 21st percentile.
