In our first emergency pod this offseason, Jerod is joined by Tony Adragna, Rick Bozich, and Alex Bozich to break down the commitments of Oumar Ballo and Myles Rice, and how it may fit together.
I saw an article claiming we spent $1.2 million for Ballo. It doesn’t bother me and I hope it doesn’t bother anyone on the team making a lot less. I wonder how that compares with other top MBB players and also top FB players here and elsewhere. I also wonder how his salary happened to get made public, and whether this level of NIL is sustainable, assuming it’s also seriously used for WBB and soccer and??
There have been conflicting reports on the actual number. I saw the $1.2 million number. I also saw others say it wasn't that much. I'd say it's fair to assume it's somewhere between 750k and $1.2 million -- which, either way, is nice a chunk of change. No, I don't think any of this is sustainable. It's just what we have until a real infrastructure for a professional sport involving university infrastructure is put into place.
