Some IU fans are worried about Myles Rice's 3-point shooting. Jerod explains why there is plenty of reason to expect the 3P% to improve ... but a different concern worth considering.
“Passing up open 3’s”. We would be at the top of the list. In the early games with a good lead we need to shoot a lot of 3’s and get used to it. Practice helps. Our offense was one dimensional this year which made defending a is much easier.
I mentioned this in Tony's thread below but it bears repeating. No WSU fans were ever worried about Myles' shot. It was fine pretty much until 1/31 and he missed 20-something shots in a row (and was asked about it at pretty much every media availability opportunity). Dude had the yips and after he hit one in the tournament against Drake, everything settled back down for him.
I'm more concerned with Rice's defense than his 3 point shot. WSU had to hide him a lot in Pac-12 games when the other team had an elite guard.
Thanks for the analysis. The freshman to sophomore jump may be real, but what effect does transferring schools have on this jump? Have you compared how freshmen who change schools do for their sophomore year vs freshmen that don’t change schools - are their numbers any different?
I would like to see a statistic called

Excellent article. Keep up the good work.
He shot 44.8% on 3's his senior year in high school on 125 attempts.
